Labong Dam

Labong dam is an earthfill embankment located at the north eastern tip of the State of Johore. It is sited across the Sungai Labong valley, about 5.5km upstream of the confluence of Sungai Labong and Sungai Endau.

The dam was constructed in 1949 to supply water to for the Endau Plain Irrigation Scheme, Stage 1. This scheme covers an area of about 1184Ha. Presently, only about 754Ha is cultivated. The impounded water is also utilised by Syarikat Air Johor for domestic water supply to Endau area. The present water supply capacity is about 0.5Mgd and can be increased for future demands

Labong Dam comprises a 259m long main embankment, a saddle dam, a cut and cover syphon spillway/irrigation intake at the right abutment and two auxilliary spillways, one on the left abutment and the other about 426.83m further on the left.
